We've seen fusion Korean tacos sold in LA and it looks gooooood, but we've yet to see the same where we live here in Montreal. So hey, why not just make one ourselves in the comfort of our own home!

The beef is so yummy: juicy, tender, sweet, spicy and savory. It's marinated in a bulgogi-style marinade and it is just an explosion of flavours. Plus the addition of cornstarch in the marinade makes the beef super tender and juicy!
The spicy gochujang mayonnaise topping also adds some spiciness and creaminess to the tacos. And the marinated cabbage gives these tacos some crunch that adds some great texture to the tacos!
This is a simple recipe for Korean Style Spicy Beef Tacos that will for sure impress anyone! We hope you guys enjoy this recipe and happy eating!
Ingredients
Bulgogi-Style Beef
- 1/2 lbs ground beef
- 2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp gochujang
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 3 cloves garlic minced
- 1 tsp ginger minced
- 1 small onion chopped
- 1 green onion chopped
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tbsp canola oil
Marinated Cabbage
- 1/4 cabbage shredded
- 1 tbsp rice wine vinegar
- 1/2 tbsp granulated sugar
Spicy Gochujang Mayonnaise
- 1 tbsp Japanese mayonnaise
- 1 tsp gochujang
- 1 tsp sesame oil
Tacos
- 6 corn tortillas
- green onions chopped, for topping
Instructions
Bulgogi-Style Beef
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, low-sodium soy sauce, sesame oil, gochujang, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, onion, cornstarch, and green onions and mix well. Let marinate and sit in the fridge for at least 20 minutes.
- Heat oil on a frying pan over medium high heat. Add in the marinated beef and stir-fry for 3 minutes or until cooked thoroughly while breaking the beef into smaller pieces using a spatula. Remove from heat and set aside.
Marinated Cabbage
- In a large bowl, combine the shredded cabbage, rice wine vinegar, and granulated sugar and mix well. Set aside.
Spicy Gochujang Mayonnaise
- In a small bowl, combine the Japanese mayonnaise, gochujang, and sesame oil and mix well. Set aside.
Assembling the tacos
- To prepare the corn tortillas, heat a flat-bottomed pan over medium high heat. Toast the corn tortilla for 1-2 minutes on each side or until slightly golden. Remove from heat and set aside.
- To assemble the tacos, lay the corn tortillas flat and add the shredded cabbage. Place the cooked beef on top of the bed of cabbage and top with the spicy mayonnaise and green onions.
