Our families have been going to Baton Rouge on Decarie Boulevard for sooo many years. It has now become our favourite family restaurant. It's great food and price make it the perfect location for special gatherings. If you're not familiar with this steakhouse, you're seriously missing out! They basically serve your typical american dishes along with some Italian inspired food and other miscellaneous dishes.

As stated earlier, we have been coming to this restaurant for years, and one thing extremely important to note is that not all baton rouge are the same, the best one is on Decarie Boulevard. Please, do not make the same mistake as we did, and stick to this one.

The other day, we went to the Safari Zoo and by the end of the day we were so hungry we had to make our usual stop to this steakhouse. Alvin ordered their famous ribs. If you don't know what to order, we definitely recommend them as the pair between their perfectly balanced BBQ sauce and oh-so-tender meat makes it one of their strongest dishes.

Another one of our favourite is their prime rib. You can either take it grilled or in the juice (featured in the picture). I personally prefer grilled since I find it enhanced the meat flavour but my brother felt like having juicy meat. However, he did say that he preferred the grilled version too. I would say that 9 times out of 10 it comes perfectly cooked as you asked, but if it isn't they are always very kind to prepare another one.

My mom took the veal liver, which is a dish that isn't always on the menu. My mom took it once before and loved it so when she saw it on the menu she had to order it again. The waiter suggested a medium cook, even though my mom preferred medium-raw, and it was indeed too dry for her. However, she said it was still very good and the touch of onions and mashed potato completed it perfectly.

My dad, my brother's fiancee and I took the fried chicken salad. This is not your regular salad, since it comes filled with goodies such as artichokes, palm heart, avocado, croutons and etc. Their fried chicken is one of my favourite in Montreal, it's so fluffy and light, I almost don't feel guilty eating it! You can chose your dressing and I always take honey mustard since I love it with the chicken!

And finally, our favourite dessert of all time: brownie with vanilla ice cream on top. So simple but so delicious! The brownie comes warm and is filled with macadamia nuts, it's one of the best I've ever eaten! Not too sweet, which is why it goes so perfectly with the ice cream. We usually always share it between at least 4 people since it's so big!

Sadly, we can't order the entire menu in one seating but these are some other item on the menu that we suggest:

Grilled Calamari (not on the menu anymore, but they can still make it if you ask. Make sure it's grilled, not fried!)

    Seafood Linguini

    Chicken Tenders

    Spinach Dip

    Strawberry Daiquiri (Our FAV!)

Furthermore, all of their side dishes that comes with the main course are delicious! We recommend this restaurant to everyone and everytime we bring our friends, they love it! It's a casual restaurant with exquisite food.

    Food: 9.5/10
